Culinary birthday bash
Shayna went to Nancy's house for her 9th birthday party today. It was a cooking party. They had the girls (6 in all) make pizzas and then make little cakes. They got to be creative with both- adding food coloring to the batter, nuts, chips to the batter and also adding toppings onto the pizza. Shayna made hers a chocolate chip pizza (OK she is 9!). They played a few games. One where they had to "taste" various flavors from baby food jars and guess what it was and another where they had to see how many words they could make from "Culinary birthday bash." They even did a craft- they decorated aprons with fabric paint.
Shayna took home a tin of leftover pizza and a plateful of baked mini cakes (no photo as we ate them all so fast).
Here is Shayna holding the party favor: a really cute bag of raspberry lemonade mix with a little wisk attached: She also brought home this really pretty balloon which Skyler made HIS. he held onto this balloon for well over an hour, carrying it everywhere with him! (He also ripped off the ribbon)
Here is the apron Shayna made:
(hard to see but its palm trees with the ocean)
