Ice Cream Parlor
There was this adorable ice cream parlor and shop in the hotel. Wednesday night when we got back from exploring the neighborhoods/towns/homes etc. the boys fell asleep and Shayna and I went down for some ice cream. I loved the way they decorated it for christmas. They had big "candies" hanging from the ceiling (like ornaments) and the CUTEST christmas tree. it was in mainly red & white and had candy garlands and ice cream cone ornaments. if you double click the photos below it will enlarge so you can see the details on the tree (middle photo best to see details on tree): Shayna is wearing the necklace Jami gave her:
The shop was great too because it sold most things you may run out of or need (ie Tylenol), even sunglasses and pool floats and toys. We didn't know this and had bought the pool toys/float at the beach shops further south on A1A Tuesday night. Manny bought a great pair of sunglasses here. The strange thing is, we lost almost everything we bought for the beach (all but the beach bag which is hard to lose) at the end of the trip in Turks & Caicos.
sunglasses=accidentally left on chair while snorkeling
float=accidentally left behind near scuba shop after watching sunset on beach next to last night
beach toys=left near tiki hut, some blew away, backpack gone, giant shovel gone, a few items left which we left after last day on beach there
so ...if some beach toys, a beach backpack, or a blue car pool float wash up when you are on the beach...you know where they came from (they very well may as they are somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean)
