Vacation: The Journey
Due to lack of time and limited internet access...I am just now getting to blog about our vacation. So I will go in chronological order. Here we are at the very beginning of our travel adventure, going through security at Philadelphia Airport. This was the 1st checkpoint, after this was the chaotic area where you must disrobe (ie take off any hoodies, coats, sweaters) and take off your shoes, fold stroller, etc.
We made it onto the plane, although we had to sit 2 and 2 (ie not all together), I could not prebook the seats beause the flight was United "operated" by US Air. anyway- we took along the Bunnyman travel bug and here he is enjoying his window seat. That is, until the passenger assigned to the seat came and sat on him- literally- as I forgot that I had put him there- until the man grabbed the bunnyman under him with a look of "what the ?%8#?" after I explained what he was, he thought it was very cool and said he would check out groundspeak.com.
All the luggage. 3 bags alone for all the scuba/snorkeling/beach gear.
we made it to Florida!
Traveling Tips we picked up after this trip:
1. Tie colorful ribbons onto your luggage. makes finding them in baggage claim easier.
2. if traveling out of the country, bring walkie-talkies. in some remote locations cell phones do not work.
3. don't bother bringing beach towels if booked at hotels--they all give out pool/beach towels.
4. check the dates carefully when checking into a hotel, make sure they have the departure date correct before you sign anything.
ps-- the photos will get better after this...
